haiku my burning question
this Nay Poe Wry Moe
* * * * *
Alas!
I must await
another Nay Poe Wry Moe*
one year hence to resolve
my burning dilemma.
Farewell, sweet April!
I have loved you truly.
Forgive this brief flirtation.
No offense intended.
Simply put,
The time for my departure
to merry May is here.
Yours forever!
Sort of.

Oh, please don’t stopping writing poetry just because April is over! Your poems are wonderful!

Thanks, Nancy! I fear I can’t stop writing them because they just keep happening. They also help me show who I am in ways that maybe capture the many sides of ME! So I won’t stop. Finally, I’m most grateful for your comment because I’ve never ever seen myself as a writer of poetry–even when I was in that clover nest mode as a child, writing that Ode to a Snake in the Grass. What will now happen is that I won’t use NaPoWriMo as a tag–until next April.

It’s fun when you insert a fun lyric in the midst of your heavy thoughts. Sometimes it is almost overwhelming and then you lighten things with a poem like today’s. I am enjoying getting to know you better. You are so multifaceted. I hope this journey is bringing as much healing to you as it is bringing understanding to me – of the grandparents, my father, and my cousins and their families. Bless you!

Thanks, Ruth! Again, I’m so grateful for your comment. Yes, I often feel a bit overwhelmed as I put it into words–which, for me right now, are absolutely essential for my healing process. Words have always brought clarity and a sense of where I still need closure/healing. It’s as though I’m discovering parts of my voice (especially my writing voice) that were lost somewhere along the way. One more thing comes to mind, I love a good laugh. You wouldn’t believe how much fun it is to write in the fun mode! I guffaw, hoot and holler! Sort of like laughing at my own jokes–no matter what anyone else thinks about them. Silliness. Good for my soul and my body.
