Muslims shielding Christians | CNN newsfeed

CNN reported this out today with an interview and more details about this incident. Take a look right here. Also, check out the short text below the video. Most of the passengers were women! Yes, there were also men. And most of the passengers were women!

So why is this important? It raises the bar high when it comes to courage and risk-taking in our highly charged global situation. With you, I’m starving for stories like this. Indeed, we’re all starving for proactive kindness and solidarity with people we may not even know. Strangers, and neighbors near and far.
Thanks, CNN!

I am not sure if there is actual evidence to back me up but I think women are more prone to acts of bravery than men.

Your comment gives me pause, John. You may be right. If I think about my own parents, for example, I’d say you’re spot on. My mother faced into difficult constraints every day with courage and creativity. She was tireless in her determination to take good care of us–even though she came up short on demonstrating her affection for us. Now you’ve got me thinking again.

I think we as humans have it in us to be selfless. We just must forget ourselves…

At our interfaith Thanksgiving service I shared that if Jesus told the parable of The Good Samaritan today, the hero might be Muslim.
May I offer that if ever there is a competition of faiths, this is how the war is to be waged, that is, by loving one another.

Great comment, John. Thanks so much. It’s easy to forget God is known for showing mercy. The kind that accepts the likes of us (if we’re willing to let down our guard and accept help) and then says, “Go, and do likewise.”
