Is it possible to overdose on orchid displays? If so, the calm of this unexpectedly serene Longwood Desert Garden display was the perfect antidote. On Sunday afternoon D and I made our first almost-Spring pilgrimage to Longwood Gardens to take in the 2016 Orchid Extravaganza. This is one of my favorite photos.

This room always calms my soul in the the midst of whatever extravagant focus Longwood has chosen! It is cool, quiet, and mostly unchanging, and I love it! Thank you for reminding me of its gifts…

You’re welcome, Debbie! Yes. You’re absolutely right. “Cool, quiet, and mostly unchanging….” I hope you get to visit it soon. I wouldn’t, however, recommend a Sunday afternoon unless it’s the only option. We did it this time because of the weather and Member Appreciation Day.

I often go on a Tuesday with some of our sr. friends here at NPC. It’s a favorite destination for us!
