Better a qualm today….
by Elouise
Better a qualm today than a lifetime of regret.
Don’t ignore the qualm before a storm.
Respect your qualms — they know us better than we know ourselves.

Hi, Elouise, The picture reminds me of the movie The Perfect Storm. Looking back, I can see things that should have tipped me off that something wrong was going on in my body. Lesson hopefully learned not to discount what I am feeling because these blood clots in my lungs sure took me by surprise. I am still recuperating at home with the Visiting Nurses coming in twice a week. But am not really ready to even climb the stairs to my office. God is good all the time and I am thankful for this time when I can just read the Word and Pray and rest.. Love you, Anne

Thanks, Dave. I can’t say I’ve ever aspired to surfing! 🙂 However, if, for example, you’re talking about living with things like Chronic Kidney Disease, I’m 100% on board. (And still looking for the sweet spot!) The rest of the time, I’m more inclined to listen to my gut and go in the other direction–which has often given me great joy in the long-run! 🙂

I can look back now and recognise all the times I went ahead, knowing all the time I was making a mistake. I am a different person now than I think I could have been, but I think that ship has sailed.

Unfortunately I am not as satisfied with my marks in all the exams I have sat for.

Try as I might, I cannot recall ever feeling, or having, a qualm about anything, am I missing out on something essential?
