unknown territory

The way ahead runs like a ribbon
through autumn hills
draped in early morning mist.
Foreground reality sturdy
and reassuring frames
this snapshot of life–
an adventure into unknown territory.

Driving through Cairngorms National Park, Scotland
Response to WordPress Daily Prompt: Foggy
Thanks for this, Elouise! I was thinking that the picture looked like the region surrounding Hadrian’s Wall in northern England…and then I saw that it was depicting somewhere in Scotland – not far off! What a misty, history-filled place!

Not far off indeed! Not at all like driving through the USA. This felt wider and deeper, rooted in past exploits and damp, fertile ground.

I love a good fog and your words are wonderful, along with that photo. Kind of mysterious, a good fog can be, just like life sometimes ❤
