The high cost of loving
by Elouise
Just when I think
I’ve memorized
Every line in your face
Death rewrites it
My heart stops beating
Memory fails
A lump in its throat

this is so sad as to be tragic E ❤ the first four lines….short but with so much depth it drowns a soul with tears ❤

I had my dear sister Diane in mind. And my mother. Two women who, in my opinion, died too early. I was also thinking about how difficult it is to remember all the things we want to remember about those we love the most, even though they’re still alive. Yes, I’m teary just writing this…. Good tears, though. The kind that keep me soft.

I often appreciate memories as they soften over time and begin to attain a glow so to speak, to remember them all? I wouldn’t know how, so I just give ’em a big hug, embracing them as they trickle up to the surface💜💕☮peace and love and hey L 💜☮
