The cost of endurance
by Elouise
The cost of endurance drags heavy
on my feet increasingly unwilling
to put one step before another at this
snail’s pace – a lifetime sentence of
fallout from disasters beyond control
out of synch with my world-weary soul
Outside the front door sirens scream
their way toward yet another disaster
while beyond my kitchen windows
trees beneath blue skies and home to
songbirds entice me into yet another
day – interest enough for this old soul

Yes indeed. We’re getting a rather extensive workout in this strange season of unsettled loose ends. Thanks for the comment, Judy.

nature always reminds us to stop and breathe and enjoy the lovely aspects of birds and bees going about their daily routine, ha, breathing in and out ❤

I bet they don’t have to do intentional deep breathing, either! 🙂

just looked out my window and noticed a little white tree frog hiding up at the top watching me as I write, everywhere….precious things…. ❤

they make a racket when it rains….and their feet have gummy balls on the end that they cling to the glass with, cute little things 🙂

I just love the way you give us a picture taken by D, and never bother to enlighten we dumb nuts as to what it is.
Nice looking cockatoo or is it a budgie? 😈

Uhhhh. It’s a tree and a bird and the sky! 🙂 And the bird is an American robin–a prolific songbird and, I might add, a vulture on earthworms! Probably a juvenile, since it looks a bit unfinished and unkempt in its feathers and markings. They’re a dime a dozen here, as they are elsewhere–though in different outfits! 🙂 Sorry….sort of. Glad you liked the picture! 🙂

Well at least it’s not Superman.
Thanks for the info, looks pretty big for a robin; is it perhaps a Texas robin?

🙂 Nope. Just a plain old American (one size fits all–yikes!) Robin!

Just went back for another butchers at that robin and it still looks pretty big to me, perhaps it’s sitting on a small twig like branch not a reasonable sized one.
The only birds I don’t like are the Indian Mynahs, they are killing off our native species. and they are quite ugly to look at.
