Outside my window

Outside my window
The green spruce rises majestic
Into a clear blue sky
Golden cones glisten in morning sun
Pregnant with a new day
So it isn’t a bumper crop of cones this year and I didn’t see the squirrel. I did, however, see the gorgeous spruce, the clear blue sky, the golden cones and the morning sun! And better yet, I just told D it’s a great day to go to Longwood Gardens. So we’re out of here! Off to see the Orchid Show and the clear blue sky while it lasts.

It keeps tantalizing us! 🙂 It was beautiful today–cool, but sunny all day.

Leta and I are in North Carolina visiting our son. The pear and Magnolia trees are in full bloom.

That sounds glorious! I’m especially partial to Magnolia trees and their fragrance. We had a giant Magnolia in our front yard in Savannah. It loved being near the river.
The only surprise at Longwood was that the restaurant and café were closed until mid-March for renovation. So much for my healthy vegetarian chili! 😦 But I did the best I could–a peanut butter and jelly sandwich packaged for kids, and a black bean burger minus bread and lettuce! Hot and spicy. Whew. My gut was stunned but seems to be pretty happy today. 🙂
