A quick and happy update
by Elouise
I’m just back from seeing my kidney doctor to go over recent lab tests. Two things in particular have me ecstatic!
- First, my Vitamin D is no longer a hair’s breadth from ‘deficient.’ It’s now proudly ‘sufficient’! This means good things for my health overall including more energy, happy kidneys, happy heart, happy blood pressure and happy bones. Well…happy enough for me.
- Second, my Chronic Kidney Disease Stage 3 ranking got kicked in the butt! It’s now Stage 2, and should hold right there as long as I’m a good girl and do all the right stuff. That means eating the right food, drinking enough water, exercising regularly every day, getting enough sleep, saying No to just about every invitation that comes my way (slight exaggeration), lazing around when that’s what I feel like doing, writing my heart out, and visiting you as I’m able.
Speaking of visiting, tomorrow D and I are going next door for tea with our neighbors. He cooked the fabulous Quinoa and Garbanzo Bean dish (Indian style) for me, and she’s a medical doctor. Yesterday I saw Rita while we were out walking. I’m due a cup of tea with her, as well.
That’s it for now. Just felt like I would pop wide open if I didn’t share my good news!

You’ll become quite as fond of your medical advisers, as I am of mine, Elouise, which pleases me greatly.
I have to take a Vitamin D supplement for the rest of my life, can’t remember why, and the doc that put me on them and told me I had to died not long ago, he was only 64, a sad loss, He was a good man. 😥
I did a post and received some very sincere coments

Thanks, Brian! I hope that’s exactly what happens.
They say too many people take too much Vitamin D. Sounds like you and I are among the exceptional few who actually need gobs of it! 🙂 I haven’t had a medical doctor die yet (while I was seeing them), though a few have retired, much to my dismay. I have a great team right now (never dreamed I’d have so many doctors at once!). Thanks for the link to your piece about Dr. Adams. I’ll get over to read it today. He was very young indeed.

My Vitamin D level was just tested at 30. My doctor wants me to take a supplement, but I don’t like taking vitamins. According to her, 50 would be more ideal.

Sounds like decision time for you. My experience has been positive, though I’m not at the 50 range yet. For whatever it’s worth, I’m all for doing your own research to find out all you can. I have some risk factors for Vit D deficiency, and don’t want to go there at all! I wish you the best no matter what you decide. 😊🙏🏻

I’m all for trusting the doctors.
I have never done any research, ever, I am not trained in the medical profession and they are; I put my faith and trust whole & solely in them.
If I don’t have confidence in my doctors, I find those who I do.
It hasn’t failed me yet as you know,
As for taking vitamins, I take 4 every day, I have only one prescription pill that I take each day I have no difficulty or qualms. My doc says take them so I do,
Which isn’t bad when you consider my age, medical history; just 4Vitamins +1, pill a day.
I’ll wager if I went on line to research some silly sod would probably come to the conclusion that I suffer from indigestion and should stop stuffing food into my stomach,

awesome news E and a big hey to L too, you must have received the sun rays I sent via sky view for the vitamin D, I’ll keep trying to push it your way ❤ keep up the good work and say Yes every now and then too….you must be kind to the Yes 🙂

This past week I felt those rays you sent and wanted to shove some of them back down sky view to the West Coast of Florida! I’ll try hard to be kind to the Yes, too. Though the way I see it, every No to a mismatched opportunity (for me to do something else in addition to….) is really a great big YES to me, myself and I! 🙂
