Monday Morning after Margie
by Elouise

Bent on a mission from God
Not derailed by frivolous sidetrips
One painful step at a time
Thoughtfully paced and ordered
You showed up at God’s doorstep
Right on time
Too early for me and for your friends
Left gaping at the huge sinkhole
In our hearts and in that pew
where you were not sitting yesterday
Our breath sucked into silence
at the news of your death
I will not call glorious
In memory of a friend, one of the Angels in my life. She died Saturday afternoon.

Response to WordPress Daily Prompt: Glorious
Oh Elouise, I am so sorry for your loss. As if you didn’t already have enough thoughts on your mind about life and death, a void now refreshes the thought pattern I’m sure. Sending prayers to give you strength at this time ❤ ❤ ❤ and hugs too.

Thanks so much, Kim. I’ve known her for years. As have many others. A quiet presence, ever ready to offer a prayer for anyone in need. Struggling with multiple health issues. Big sigh…I am glad she isn’t in pain anymore, but…the pain of her absence smarts. (((xxx)))

It does make you understand why Jesus snorted like a horse at the death of his friend Lazarus – death remains the last enemy. Many tears shed for Margie by those who knew her; she was younger than her body allowed her to be. No wonder there are so many lament psalms.

No, it really doesn’t. Since all our love is unique, each experience of its loss is also different. I’m so sorry for the gaping hole it leaves. ((xxx))
