sounds of silence
by Elouise
not even
the refrigerator
hums tonight
a clock
ticks seconds away
barely audible
in my ear
the soft buzz of silence
fills the air

There are times when silence is very welcome; looks like you just had one of them

Indeed. We’ve had men working in our attic for the last two weeks. Lots of noise! So the quiet in the evening has been wonderful. 😊

I know the feeling. -except for the lady in flat 1 who has a smokers cough that wakes me a 5.30.

I would love to have silence again! Tinnitus is frustrating.

Oh my. Yes, I recall you talking about that. When we all get to heaven (and find out we can actually get along without shouting at each other), maybe your tinnitus will disappear! 🙂

like the blessed sound of white noise, lulling us into sweet dreams of a bright tomorrow filled with love and rising to drown out the sounds of hate ❤
