All I need for today

All I need for today
Is framed by my kitchen window
This is truth:
The importance of small things.
Have you counted earth’s surviving insects?
Planetary disaster goes unnoticed
The border wall calls, cries, screams
For attention
The small child in each of us
Demanding and relentless

That’s a very pretty butterfly; what is the danger that could cause it’s extinction? Is you humans of climate or???

Hi, Brian! It’s endangered due to a combination of things like climate (becoming too warm), the clearing of wild lupine meadows (for ‘development’ projects), and loss of shady habitat (preferred by females). It isn’t as endangered as many species, but it’s fragile when left without suitable habitat. We seem to have forgotten how important the insects are to our survival. 😦 You can read more about the butterfly by clicking on the link at the bottom of the post. So, put another way, it’s a human and climate disaster–which, of course, is all tangled up together. A big mess.
