Shifting gears

Shifting gears
Uncertain where
When or how
This experiment
Will end
Sitting in my attic
A buzzer sounds
Time Up!
But I’m not yet
Finished
Put down your pen
Search your heart
Love your body and
The grand experiment
Of being alive
I hear cars passing
In steady parade
Like-minded drivers
Trying to get there
On time
Am I on time?
Did the party begin?
Where are the streamers
And Minnie Mouse
balloons?
Today becomes
Tomorrow too soon
For my liking
Will you still be there
To love me?

Each day has some sort of small “party” going on: in the backyard (or at Longwood), in people, and in whatever activity we undertake, or the rest we receive. We get to join the party or not. It’s our choice. Much better than the ones you have to dress up for…
As for tomorrow?
I hope to be here!
BTW, there is a herd of balloons at Temple University Hospital, in the Rheumatology and Endocrinology Department – I saw them this morning, when Helga and I went for an appointment! 🙂
Love and appreciation from the back office at NPC!

So true! The hardest part is recognizing them when they appear out of context! 🎉🎈❣️
