A quick update
by Elouise
First, Longwood Gardens photos are in the works. Yesterday D and I played hooky and went to Longwood Gardens. Our way of celebrating the end of a long streak of heat waves, rain and heavy winds. D’s photos are on my computer, and I’m already plotting a photo post. The photo at the top is a little taste!
Second bit of blog-related news. I’ve created a Mary Oliver category. I haven’t discarded or forgotten about Emily Dickinson. I am, however, especially drawn to Mary’s poetry right now, and anticipate more posts about the way they intersect with my life.
Third bit. I’ve just begun going through over 100 posts on Death and Dying. I’ve created the category, and will continue populating it with old and new material. I’m eager to think and write about life with death on the horizon. Not that that’s anything new….
And finally, I’m making peace with myself one day at a time. In general, that means taking things a bit slower than usual, and spending time in the attic each day. It’s a fabulous place to relax, read, write, do nothing at all, or think about the wonderful people who have helped bring me up whether they knew it or not.
Hugs to those who need them, and smiles to everyone whether you want them or not!

YAYAY!! Thank you so much, Elouise, and I wish you much happy relaxing in the attic. 😀 😀 We have had the rain, the wind, and are enjoying the sun, though given the amount of nervous commentary in the news on heatwaves, one would hardly think so. I love it, at any rate. (I think it’s because we’ve run out of opprobium to heap on Boris, and are all too hot to do anything – slow new day.)
I do hope to pop in more often. I have your website pinned as a favourite on my list of eight, (I can’t seem to get notifications in my emails.) So I’ll pop by! XOXOXOX

Hi, Fran!!!!! I’m so happy to see you. It’s been a long year so far–with lots of surprises along the way. In the middle of it all I’m told I’ve made ‘great progress’ on my health stuff….sometimes I believe them and sometimes I want to well….I won’t say. I have, however, learned about saying NO to just about anything that comes at me and isn’t feasible on my terms. Writing isn’t an optional activity, though I’m a bit slower now than before, and sometimes wonder what’s around the corner (for my writing).
Still, I have so many things I’m grateful for–despite our political and sometimes embarrassingly national situation. As for notifications in emails, did you try signing up again (as a follower) by using the option at the very bottom of each post? A number of followers get my posts via email. Just a thought. I know the feeling of frustration about not getting over to favourite (see! I’m almost OK! 🙂 ) websites. XO’s ad infinitum to you as well!

I’ll try that, Elouise, thank you!! We all have lots to be so grateful for, don’t we? And must focus on them if we are not to go stir crazy. (Just because lots of people seem to be, does not mean I need to follow suit.)
Love you, lots, and forever,
Fran XOXOX

I’ve been so busy, haven’t gotten to WP very often myself. The book writing process has been amazing and fulfilling a dream makes me smile. My first book signing happens end of August up in Buffalo and getting excited. Hope all is going smoothly with the waterbed fiasco. Hugs and love to all💕
