all the king’s horses and all the king’s men
by Elouise
The taste and sound
of denial parades daily
before clamoring cameras
unaware of disconnects
between reality on the
ground and fake scenarios
Propping up the current
prince who wants to be
king takes effort of the
most subtle kind if one
wants to retain favor
as well as political clout
Looking on I’m reminded
of all the king’s horses and
all the king’s men who
couldn’t put humpty dumpty
together again despite
best efforts to salvage him
and if it weren’t so very
personal I could laugh
at this show of barely
clothed disinformation
parading before cameras
as the real thing it is not
or better yet I might try
raging in disbelief though
today I’m grieving the loss
of our small fragile world
never to be put back together
again despite its deep flaws

But in the end might not some good come of this

I wish I knew. We’re not far enough along in this, and our state-run governments make pulling together difficult at best. Strong presidential leadership would be a good thing that might happen! 🙂

A powerfuly stated reflection of our reality! I live in hope that the Creator is still working and that we will be made anew.

Thanks, Marcia! I like your vision, which will entail some form of dying. Not just for some, but for all of us. Beginning at home. 🙏🏻

Thank you, Marilyn! Taking heart…such a wonderful image. Both strength and ‘heart’ are in short supply these days. Yet we’re called to embody both as part of practicing hope. Thanks for this comment. It got me thinking.

I believe God/Jesus can heal the world of everything going on right now, but will he. ???
You have my love and prayers, Elouise.

Your question is right on target. Yes, total healing is possible, but only if we acknowledge our gaping need and ask for help. We can also receive peace and power to endure our afflictions and self-afflictions if we’re willing. And even learn from them if we pay attention to ourselves and our world. The planet, for example, like our bodies, can only endure a certain amount of neglect. Then things start falling apart, giving us yet another opportunity to accept harsh reality and change our behavior.
I think you got me going! 😟😊
Hugs and prayers for this beautiful day! 🤗
