another free concert

Feeling my way
down unexplored paths
nature surprises me
with unexpected glory
Songbirds clear their throats
early in the morning
tuning up for a day-long
cacophony of competing trills
Trees once bare lift up
spring’s new growth
reaching for the sun
to warm chilled bones
Here and there
early-bird trees burst
into bloom eager to be
the first with the most
Unorchestrated beauty
combines its collective throat

There’s much to be said for living in the moment. There’s also much to be said for the orderly parade of seasons. Not because they’ll always be with us, but because they remind us we’re in the hands of a Power greater than ourselves. A Power already present whether we see or feel it right now.
Nature’s annual spring gala invites me to take deep breaths and exhale. I’m not responsible for holding everything together, or changing the course of world history, or what other people do or don’t do, no matter how distressed I feel about it.
Praying each of you has a day filled with unexpected beauty.

So beautiful, Elouise!
It’s nice to sit out in the backyard and be the audience for nature as it sings.

Beautiful post E. I listen daily, feeling the calm of nature moving forward on its day as if nothing is amiss. Sweet sounds, indeed.💜

Thank you, Kim! I’m so happy to have this message from you. I’ve missed so much in the last year….especially visiting friends! No huge crises, just a rather large uptick in day-to-day routines. Today we seem to have Chopin’s lovely Raindrop Prelude playing outside! 🙂

I think of you often, too. Lost my cat Smokey awhile back but the polka-dotted replacement has become like on of the dogs. She amuses us to no end. Been busy writing books and working, until last week, but after the shoxk, settling in and getting a lot of progress done on my latest. Felt good to slip out a poem again…I see a need for the peace and being able to uplift others. Peace, love and all good things, K Hey Super L💜
