triumphs and trophies

triumphs and trophies
artfully spaced on his plate–
Smudge the Conqueror!
* * *
poetry in motion
he positions each precious treasure
precisely as he alone imagines it
before bowing his head low
to savor his hard-won
succulent entrée
featuring
feathered pea protein, duck, chicken and assorted fish flavors
compliments of Her Royal Highness
Queen Elouise

This morning I rediscovered this fun poem. It captures at least some of the frustration and glory of having a meticulous cat. Here’s hoping your day includes a wonderful surprise or two!

Thanks for this. In the midst of my chaotic life, your gift of words (and the photo) is a gift to my soul.

You’re welcome, Janet. I hope you find many gifts along the way…just when you need them.

YAY, Smudge! 🙂
This is a laugh-bringer, SweetLois! 🙂 😀
I love meticulous cats AND dogs! Coops can be meticulous! He has an amazing body-clock and keeps us on our schedules! I call him our Supervisor…but sometimes he can be like the Boss/The King! HA! 😀 🙂
(((HUGS))) and wishing you some sweet positive surprises today! 🙂

He’s a hoot! I don’t know how I would have kept my sanity during the last 2-3 years without him. He also keeps me on my toes–knows exactly when it’s time for his little afternoon treat, for example. And yes, he would love to be the Boss! Which, of course, he already believes himself to be. 🙂
Yes indeed, “some sweet positive surprises” are always welcome in my life! I hope your day is going well so far.

I feel exactly the same way about my Cooper! 🙂

I was just with my dear friend, Evelyne, in Paris, and her cat, Zoe. Zoe keeps to a schedule, which includes a shrimp (1 only) at 8pm, and meowing loudly at 10:30pm, because it is BEDTIME, and the cat cannot go to sleep unless her human is in her bed…ha! Thank you, Elouise, for reminding me/us of the true seat of power in a household which includes pets… 🙂

I did have a good time. I came home last night and found out I brought more than happy memories home. No symptoms, but a positive test. Just confining, so I am grateful. Many have a much rougher time…
