Dear Sock Mistress,
Sadly, your message landed in my spam folder–which I corrected asap. However, I seem to have missed responding to your un-spammed message. Here’s my response: This is wonderful! I love that anyone thinks I’m versatile. Truly! Many thanks.

The only good thing is that it’s usually pretty easy to identify the pesky spam! Also easy to forget to look….

Hi Elouise, I was attracted to your blog by the beautiful flower and the lovely comment you left on Levi’s page. I look forward to reading your blogs in the days to come. Many blessings. xx

Hi, Sharon!
Thanks for this kind note and for checking out my blog and following! The flower photo was taken by my husband in the Portland Rose Garden in Oregon. It was my favorite color and blossom in the entire garden!

My father said I was stubborn, my mother said I was determined, and all I wanted was peace and quiet!
I was 2 or 3 years old at the time. And I still recall that moment.
Is it not a very bold statement ; ‘bold truth-teller’ ?
Is it not incumbent on you to be able to provide unimpeachable proof of what you are saying?
Would it not be better for you to qualify your statement which are based on your beliefs and upbringing?
By stating quite forcefully that you are a “bold truth teller” does place you in an indefensible position.
I do find it very hard to understand, how a religion that believes the world was started in 7 days, only 6 or 7 thousand years ago; could have developed into such a large profitable business, with many different branches (Jews Islam,Christian and Christian offshoots etc), who always seem to be in disagreement and at each others throats, without having anything concrete to sell.
I find it very strange indeed! 🙂

Yes, I also wanted peace and quiet in my family. As for my self-description, take another look. I didn’t say I’m a bold truth-teller. I said I’m a “sometimes courageous truth-teller.” Not as though I have all truth about God or you or the world or anything else. The boldest and most difficult truth I have to tell in this blog is about me. You might read the page called Truth–at the top there. That’s what I mean by truth (in this blog) and what I don’t mean. Also, you might read the page called Who am I as a Blogger? It’s under About Me. For the record, I do not hold to a 7-day, etc. idea about how the world came into being. I do, however, believe that the way it developed was foreseen and overseen by a Creator whose glory it reflects, even though the world isn’t always glorious–as seen throughout Hebrew and Christian Scripture. It grieves me when Christianity becomes an excuse for profiteering. I also believe Christians are as human as everyone else. Thanks for your plain speaking, and for taking time to read and comment.
