Gratitude Friday | An Update

SpringFlowers09.jpg

What a week! Up and down, but on the whole, more up than down. Chiefly because of little things that kept interrupting me, reminding me there’s way more to life than health issues.

Best of all, Mother Nature reasserted her right Read the rest of this entry »

Mortal Woman

Night Sky Nov 14

I’m in the shady if not elderly bracket of life. You know. That time of life when people start treating you differently. Sometimes they don’t know whether to do obeisance because you’ve lived so long, or whether to treat you as Read the rest of this entry »

Seeing a light at the end…

At the Back of the North Wind stairs

…of this tunnel. Or perhaps I’m becoming accustomed to waiting and then waiting some more?

I had a good conversation with my primary care doctor late this afternoon. She reviewed all reports from two specialists I’ve seen in the last six weeks, and talked with me about my options.

Photo Therapy for My Heart

P1060580

Today I’m featuring several photos I love to look at. They calm and reassure my heart no matter what’s happening around or in me. I hope you enjoy them, too, and find some peace slipping into your heart today.

Secrets

Secrets of my body

birds flutter

birds flutter swoop dive
cat’s jaw quivers, tail twitches—
agony of spring

To Prince Oliver Smudge the Second, aka Smudge:

I hereby dedicate this haiku to Your Royal Catness
with the clear expectation that you will
immediately cease and desist
from all yowls of neglect and outrage.

You say it deeply pains you to watch me day after day
writing only about Me, Myself and I.

To be brutally frank,
I know much more about Me, Myself and I
than I do about the mystery of
Your Inner Being/Inner Cat/Inner Stalker.

HOWEVER

If you read Your Very Own Haiku with an open mind
you will discern therein
just how much I DO appreciate your agony day after day
as all those Nasty Spring Birdies flaunt their freedom in the Great Outdoors.

No.  You may NOT go outside to play today!
I’m No Dummy.

Her Royal Highness,
Queen Elouise
