Memories fade

Memories fade
stored in leaky shed
pierced with rusting spikes
***
How many have already died away,
leaving the most resilient and powerful behind?
Who am I without my memories?
And will my fading body be their demise as well?

Sometimes I wish I did not have the storehouse that I have for a memory. A huge room, full of filing cabinets marked ‘Useless Information’.
At times it’s a strain having such a memory bank as mine.

😊 I think you and my husband suffer from a similar malady. Sometimes I think he has a giant encyclopedia in his head! And then there are those memories we wish we could forget….

Well I’m glad I’m not alone! 🙂
I don’t know as I ever have wanted to forget any memory, even those that are unpleasant, they’re all part and parcel of me.

very cool image E, and your words suit the pic beautifully in a sad way. Yes, memories, can be good and bad, wish we could pick and choose that which we store in the rusting shed ❤
