Dear Elouise, when I was in college, once a month Father Bischoff, the Jesuit Campus ministry priest, would have any student interested come to his home at 6 AM. We would then drive to a park while dew drops still hung from leaves and the ground was still moist. I first saw a spider web with drops on it, and the spider at the webs center; an experience that was beautiful and yet fearful because I did not know if this spider was poisonous However, the park was known for its free roaming deer. I had never encountered an uncaged deer in my life, and when I saw one, your words in the poem describe exactly what I felt. I am ambivalent about “touching” your poetic words out of fear that the “is-ness” of your words would collapse and the deer would flee!
Thank you, Elouise, for your words . . . Laju

Yes. Cars are dangerous to wildlife. Cameras seek to know and remember. Thanks, Meg.

You’re so welcome, Morgan. Thank you for your kind words. I don’t get around as often as I’d like, either, sadly. But I always find something to love and to cheer me on in your posts.
